Aluminium Dibond print
Your photo on aluminium – or on Alu Dibond – adds a very special touch to your home. The material consists of a black core covered on both sides with 0.3 mm-thick aluminium layers. This sophisticated combination is both lightweight and elegant – and not everyone has it. On request, we can cut the material to size with millimetre precision – round motifs, shapes, etc. are no problem.
The UV-resistant ink is applied directly to the surface of the material. The standard thickness is 3 mm, but we also offer a 4 mm version. Alu Dibond can also be used outdoors, e.g. in the garden or on the balcony. Rain, wind, sun – the material can easily withstand it all. How should Alu-Dibond® be protected and maintained in everyday use?
Caring for and protecting Alu-Dibond® in everyday use is relatively simple and straightforward. Here are the key points for proper handling and cleaning:
Daily care
Dusting: Use a dry, soft, lint-free microfibre cloth for regular dusting. Do not apply any pressure to avoid scratching the surface.
Preventing fingerprints: Please wear gloves when handling the panel, as the surface is prone to showing fingerprints.
Cleaning
Light soiling: Use a damp cloth to remove light soiling. Take care not to rub the surface too hard.
Thorough cleaning: Use mild soapy water or car shampoo. Use a soft cotton cloth or a soft car wash brush.
Cleaning steps for heavily soiled panels:
- Moisten the entire surface.
- Remove any coarse dirt with a soft cloth.
- Rinse the worktop (do not use a high-pressure cleaner on worktops with adhesive film).
- Clean with a mild soapy solution.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, soft cloth.
Precautions
No harsh cleaning products: Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents or glass cleaners, as these may damage the surface.
Note the direction: If the tiles have been scoured, always clean in the direction of the surface pattern.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight: To preserve the vibrancy of the colours, do not place Alu-Dibond® in direct sunlight or above radiators.
Long-term protection
Regular cleaning: Regular, gentle cleaning will keep it looking fresh for a long time.
Handle with care: Avoid scratching and applying excessive pressure when handling and cleaning.

Aluminium DIBOND® Butler finish
Alu DIBOND® Butlerfinish differs from Alu Dibond „white“ in its striking surface finish. This is brushed, meaning that the texture remains clearly visible even after printing. It is nevertheless very light, easy to transport, resistant to bending and extremely sturdy. White areas are not printed, giving the image a silver or stainless steel effect. It is particularly suitable for black-and-white photographs and large-scale images. The construction, however, is the same as for classic Alu Dibond: Two thin aluminium layers surround a black polyethylene core. JPG, PNG, TIFF up to 300 MB – the higher the resolution, the better: For brilliant results, we recommend a minimum resolution of 150 dpi at the target size. Yes, absolutely: The waterproof direct printing process and the sealed surface make Alu DIBOND® ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, saunas or covered outdoor areas. No risk of mould, no discolouration.
Surprisingly light: A 100×150 cm picture weighs only about 2.2 kg – less than a comparable glass picture. Standard plasterboard walls can easily support even XXL formats.
Minor scratches can be polished out: Superficial scratches can often be reduced using a special aluminium polish. In the event of more extensive damage, we can produce a new print at a reasonable cost – your file will remain on file.
