Save a Word document or image as a PDF.
A PDF file provides better protection for page layout, fonts and images against unwanted shifts. With these three quick steps, preparation usually goes smoothly.
Convert a Word document
In Word, open „File“, then select „Save As“ or „Export“. Select PDF as the file type, then choose „Standard“ or „Print“ as the quality setting.
Exporting graphics correctly
When exporting, select the desired final format. Images should be large enough. If the colour extends to the edge, allow for a 3 mm bleed where possible.
Quickly check the PDF
Open the final PDF and check the page numbers, order, format, margins, fonts and images. Only then should you upload the file for printing.
